Join the Sports for Social Impact Book Club

The podcast has always aimed to explore the intersection of sport and society. Week after week, those conversations have sparked new ideas, surfaced diverse perspectives, and highlighted the transformative power of sport. We wanted to do more of this in a new format.

That’s why this book club was created.

Each month, we will read a book that examines the intersection of sport and society from a variety of angles: social justice, community development, youth empowerment, public policy, international development, leadership, inclusion, and more. These readings will extend and complement the conversations happening on the podcast, offering additional context, lived experiences, research, and stories that help us understand not just what sport can do, but how and why it matters. The book club is a place where ideas from the podcast can be unpacked, challenged, and expanded—together.

This is an informal and accessible space. There is no pressure to read at a certain pace or engage in any specific way. Our goal is simply to create a welcoming environment where curious readers, sport practitioners, leaders, and community members can come together to reflect, share insights, and learn from one another. Whether you participate every month or drop in when a topic resonates your presence enriches the conversation.

As the book club grows, we envision it becoming a dynamic extension of the Sports for Social Impact platform—a place where readers help shape future podcast discussions, and where a community of thoughtful, engaged individuals can collectively explore how sport can contribute to a more equitable and connected society.

Thank you for being part of this new venture. Your curiosity, your experiences, and your willingness to engage with complex ideas are what make this community meaningful. We’re excited for the conversations ahead and for the impact we can create together.

I can’t wait to discover the true power of sports with you.
